How long has the contractor been in business?
References and don't be afraid to ask to visit a current job site.
When you visit the job site go after 5pm or on the weekend.
- Professionalism
- No clutter equals no unnecessary accidents = safe job site
- Experience
- Care, it shows not only do they take pride and care in their work but your house as well.
Ask for a time frame for the completion of the job.
Materials can hold up a job however, if the contractor has been in business for a good amount of time he has built a relationship with local custom suppliers for timing of delivery. Weather can delay the time on a job which is neither the contractors fault nor your fault, remember this because it does happen!
